Use a market/selling platform - storenvy, I found that it’s helpful to use this because it’s easier to be found on this platform rather than your customers looking up a specific link because they might not know it.
Listen to business podcasts - How I Built This with Guy Raz - Ted Business - Teen Entrepreneur Podcast. How I Built This, is a great podcast. Guy interviews different founders from largely successful companies and discussing their journeys and it’s really interesting. I’ve learned a lot from it.
Create your products first, you should make your products before you worry about anything else. I found that it’s made me more focused and I’ve had a better opportunity to afterwords focus more on the separate parts of the process.
It’s helpful to have social media accounts. I have a youtube channel and a Pinterest account and that is a good way for people to find out about you and produce some creative content. Just make sure you have permission to create accounts.
Be patient. It may take a while to get purchases, you have to be very patient.
Spread the word! A great way to advertise on a small budget is to simply spread the word. Tell your friends and family about it!
Make your products profitable but cheap. How do you know if your product is profitable? I’m going to share a little trick so that you know if your product is profitable. This is going to sound complicated but it isn’t. Take all the costs of your materials to make a product, let’s say all of it combined it $20. Now you’re going to find out how much it costs to create one product. You have to find out how many products you can make out of those materials, so let’s say you can make 10 products out of the $20 worth of materials so we’d divide the $20 with the 10 products, you get 2. That is how much it costs to make 1 product: $2. Now that you know how much it costs to make one, now you have to add a dollar or so so that you are profitable.
Last but not least, school comes first. I know it doesn’t sound good but especially if you want to have a business career that you have to be at least decent at math and you should go to business school. So keep up your good grades!
